SYNKRON PORTABLE HOW TO

I've just downloaded and opened Synkron and am about to begin the process you outlined for rebuilding an iTunes library. My iTunes music library is stored on an external 2 TB HD with 5 GB left to spare.
SYNKRON PORTABLE PRO
I'm running iTune 12.3.3.17 on a "17 MacBook Pro 8GB RAM late '011 model with OS X 10.11.3. Any and all suggestions are wholly appreciated! Can anyone offer me advice or a protocol for reorganizing my library and/or fixing this problem? Thanks very much in advance for any time and consideration.
SYNKRON PORTABLE MAC
I know my way around the Mac pretty well, but I've never really had the same level handle on iTunes and now I'm paying for it. I'm hoping there's some elegant way to straighten this mess out. I would just trash those folders and their tunes which are copied, but then my My Music library would be peppered with missing sources and I'd have to search, find and relink where possible the tunes manually, which would be a daunting task. I'd like to somehow straighten this situation out. There are newly uploaded tunes in both locations and strangely enough, some old tunes in both. I've noticed through "Show in Finder" that some tunes are in the music library, nested inside the iTunes Folder where they belong, and some are in the folders which duplicated themselves to the hard disk. After Okaying the changed library, instead of signifying No, I inadvertently called to make a copy of the entire library, resulting in a copy of all iTune's folder on the root level of the hard disk. A while back, while switching libraries after removing and reattaching the external hard disk my iTunes library is stored on, I had to change the library back to the one on the external disk.
